Donna Wilson 15th anniversary
Hello people in the U.K!
I am writing this in English for the first time in ages, as I have a great news to share.
When I was a student, I came across Donna Wilson’s work and I got very excited, and inspired by her creatures.
It was amazing to see such a fun& original knit work and I became so aware of what you could create with such a traditional technique. I don’t think I am doing what I’m doing right now, if I hadn’t met Donna’s work.
At the time, Donna had a studio space at home, so I went and helped her stitch eyes and noses of creatures at her house.
Since I came back to Tokyo in 2011, we stayed in touch, and sometimes I was lucky enough to meet her when she was in Tokyo/or I was in London.
This year she is celebrating her 15th years anniversary, and we are making a series of collaborative creatures, and I am holding an embroidery workshop on 22nd of September.
Please come and say hello. Meet great Donna Wilson’s work, join workshop!
During this workshop, Kanae Entani will teach you the basics of hand-embroidery. You will learn to stitch flowers and leaves to decorate your own botanical cotton cat!
All materials and refreshments will be provided, and no machine skills or prior experience of embroidery are needed.
