Hello.

It’s been a long time since I updated my blog last.

I have done some freelance work for Nike, which was very exciting, and a week after that, I went to Jersey.  Back in July, I had my work exhibited in Business Design Centre in Angel, London.  And I had magazine press, interests from a few design agencies, and also, a teacher from a college in Jersey left me a message saying that she liked my work, and we kept in touch ever since.  She invited me to have a workshop for the A-level textile students.

They were very nice girls, and I really enjoyed teaching.

こんにちは。毎日楽しいことがありすぎた１２月。

月の初めにはNIKEの仕事が突然舞い降りてきた。刺繍だけど、初めての、ファッション以外の仕事。その次の週には離島のジャージー島に向う。

元はといえば、ロンドンで展示を見に来てくださった、ジャージーの学校の先生と展示のあとも連絡をとりあっていたら、私の作品がとても好きだから彼女の学校で高校生向けに刺繍のワークショップをして欲しいとのこと。

とってもいい子ばかりで、教えるのが楽しかった。つい1年前まで学生だった自分が教える立場なんて変な感じ。

飛行機の窓から見えるジャージー島。イギリス領だけれど、フランスに近く、イギリスの南なので気候も穏やか。

Year7 girls singing carols for charity, it was really nice.

最初の日、同じ学校の中学生がチャリティーのためクリスマスキャロルを街で披露。とっても盛況。

I took this one during the lesson.  They are usually very jolly and chatty, but when they are stitching, thery are very serious.

授業の様子。いつもはおしゃべりな彼女たちだけれど、刺繍をしてるときは静か。集中してます。

雑誌にのってる洋服の刺繍も、簡単に再現できますよー。って言ってるところ。
