Hello.  I am working everyday as usual, if I am not in the studio, I am out doing research.   So here are some photos that I took recently.

Carnations that I bought in Columbia Flower Market for my birthday tea party.  They are so beautiful.  I didn’t realize there are so many kinds of them.

誕生日にティーパーティーを開いたとき、コロンビアフラワーマーケットで買ったカーネーションたち。

すごく綺麗。こんなにいろんな種類があるとは知らなかった。

They bloom so beautifully.

This is a photograph of  massive medieval rug that I saw in V&A.

ヴィクトリア・アルバート美術館で見た古い絨毯の柄。動物柄なのに大人っぽくて素敵。

I have always loved portraits for some reason.  It’s always given me an inspiration.

A lot of times, when I see a paintings, I know if I like them or not straight away, but not necessarily have particular reason for it.

I was standing in front of her for 10minutes today in a gallery in somerset house.

学生の頃から肖像画が好きで、いつもリサーチに使っていた。

大体いつも絵画を見ると、自分がその絵が好きかどうかすぐにわかるんだけど、特に好き、に理由があるわけではない。

今日は、somerset houseの中の美術館にて、なぜか重ね着が素敵な彼女の前に１０分ほど立ってました。

I liked this one by Kandinsky too.  Something about it cheered me up.

このKandinskyの絵は、見ていて元気が出たから好き。

Before I studied in Art School, I didn’t understand a lot of paintings.

I know a bit about them now, but still like the things that I liked before.

Does that mean I just like things by instincts?

I have expanded my tastes though I have to say, thanks god for good education.

Becoming adult is like having more refined taste in things, maybe.

美術の勉強をする前は、絵のことをそんなに知らなかった。

今はちょっと知識があるけども、好きな絵は高校生のときからあまり変わらない。

フィーリングに任せてるから？

でも美術教育を受けたおかげで、好きな絵は沢山増えた。

大人になるってことは、いいものの良さがわかることなのかな。
