Open Studio
こんにちわー。先週の金曜と土曜に、私のスタジオでオープンスタジオがありました。日本の親友に、それって授業参観みたいなもの？と言われたけど。確かにそうかも。ただ、盗難が多いので、仕事してるところを見せることは出来ず。（機材や材料など広げるので）わたしもスタジオメートたちも自分の普段作っている作品を展示しました。金曜はオープニングで沢山の人が来てくれて、大盛況。私のスタジオは３階建てのビルにあり、２階と３階がアートスタジオなのですが、部屋がいくつもあり、普段他の部屋のアーティストとは全く交流がないので良いきっかけでした。Hello. We had an open studio on Friday-Saturday last week, it was fun!I thought it would be nice to show work in progress in the space, but I was a bit worried about things getting stolen, so in the end I just did a display on the wall.On Friday at the private view, lots of people turned up and it was so busy! My studio is in the building with 1st and 2nd floor, and all the rooms are rented as art studios. Usually, I don't meet people from other studios so it was really good to talk to new people.私の展示した作品興味を持ってくれた人には、これなんですか？と聞かれるけど。壁とかにかけられる作品です。。とまあ曖昧な答えしか言えず。もっとプレゼン上手にならないとなあ！These are my latest work, people who showed interested were like 'so what are they?' and I was saying ' ... they are wall hangings..' but maybe there is a better way of presenting my work by words!こっちの作品たちは金曜の夜にちらほら売れてしまい、ちょっと寂しそう。I sold some pieces from this display, so the rest looks a bit lonely.これはスタジオシェアするアレックスという子の写真。面白いし賢いなーと思ったので撮らせてもらいました。陰の使い方上手！This is my studio mate alex's work. I thought these photographs are very interesting and clever. I like the way she uses lights and shadows.そんなこんなで忙しい一週間でした。今週はナイキの仕事がまたつまってますー。楽しい。So it was such a busy week! I also have work for Nike this week, so I'd better get on!
